DESCRIPTION:The professional association Conservadors-Restauradors Associat
 s de Catalunya (CRAC) is organizing the XVIII Technical Meeting on Conserv
 ation-Restoration\, to be held on 19 and 20 November 2026 at CaixaForum Ba
 rcelona.
 A profession in transition
 Conservation-restoration is enteri
 ng a new era shaped by digitalization\, emerging technologies\, and Artifi
 cial Intelligence. Faced with today’s environmental\, social\, and mater
 ial challenges\, the profession is undergoing a profound transformation in
  which digital tools and data analysis are becoming essential allies for p
 reserving cultural heritage.
 The adoption of AI and new technologies is 
 transforming diagnosis\, intervention\, and heritage management. This edit
 ion of the Technical Meeting aims to be a space for discussion and exchang
 e on how these tools can improve conservation-restoration processes and pr
 omote more sustainable practices in the long term\, while opening new path
 s for knowledge and heritage interpretation.
 Interdisciplinarity —coll
 aboration between scientists\, technology experts\, and conservators-resto
 rers— becomes key in this new paradigm\, which calls for redefining meth
 odologies and expanding the boundaries of the discipline.

 During the Meeting\, research work\, applied projects\, case stud
 ies\, and technological developments in the field of conservation-restorat
 ion will be presented\, organized into the following thematic tracks:

 Smart management of collections and heritage environ
 ments.
 
 In addition\, the Meeting will feature an exhibition space for
  specialised companies developing useful tools and solutions for conservat
 ors\, giving attendees the opportunity to get to know firsthand technologi
 cal innovations.
